    Digital Gojo addresses the lack of access to diverse digital content available to Ethiopians across the diaspora. Digital Gojo is a research and development project exploring use-cases to transform Ethiopiaā€™s local and international creative value network into a sustainable web monetization ecosystem. The project will include a digital platform that will offer a working prototype for distributing and monetizing content while examining new commercial and cultural access models.

  2. Black Tattoo Anthology

    The Black Tattoo Anthology addresses the historical erasure of Black artists and Black tattoo culture. The project will create an anthology that chronicles the Black tattoo experience from professional artists with at least five years in their craft and outlines the historical milestones, movements, and contributions of Black artists and artistry to the tattoo industry. This digital collection will be created, curated, maintained, and Web Monetized by Black practitioners and the tattoo community, and the stories will be shared both digitally and in physical form.

  3. Call & Response

    Call & Response is a system to convert real-time, virtual concert audience responses into money and sound for performers using social media and other virtual platforms. Dubbed Call & Response after the eponymous Black music tradition, the system leverages blockchain and digital signal processing technologies to address for virtual environment performers two critical problems: silenced audiences and inadequate compensation. The system absorbs audience response data and delivers digital asset payments to performers.

  4. The Keyes Collective

    The Black Artist Collectiveā€™s platform will model a new, passive revenue stream for artists and curators to add long-term value to their essential work. The Art of Influence project will leverage close relationships with curators to connect black artists with a global network of collectors and art enthusiasts. Online exhibitions, curator ā€œwalk-throughs,ā€ and studio visits will provide a meaningful access point for the public to engage with living artistsā€™ work. By integrating Web Monetization micropayments into The Black Artist Collectiveā€™s platform, even novice art lovers can contribute to artistsā€™ financial wellbeing as they learn more about their work.

    Interruptor is the first Portuguese journalistic outlet to take a data-driven approach to analyse cultural issues, beyond current affairs. Our work is anchored on the principles of open source and open culture.Ā  All of our content is accessible without paywalls. We respect the privacy of our readers and listeners and do not use any invasive trackers nor cookies. Our goal with Web Monetization Standard is to use it as an extra revenue stream for our work and empower other small media to do the same. Our motto is "Cultura livre, cĆ³digo aberto": "free culture, open code".

  8. Monetizing Open Video Assets (MOVA)

    MOVA is a project that uses the International Standard Content Code to make a light fingerprint of a video and register it with a Web Monetization wallet on a distributed ledger through a desktop app; then uses CiviCRM to execute a revenue-sharing agreement for it. These new approaches could support both filmmakers and rightsholders in making works available under Web Monetization, while broadening the spaces and platforms that can share, monazite and champion them.

  9. Reductress: The "Members Only" Section

    Reductress is the first and only satirical womenā€™s magazine. For years, the ad model has forced Reductress to focus on pageviews, site traffic, and loading the site with ads, which has compromised site speed and user experience, with diminishing returns in revenue. In line with our goal to leave the ad model behind, Reductress has already enabled the framework for microdonations and subscriptions to the site for an ad-free experience and exclusive content. Weā€™re ultimately laying the groundwork to rely more substantially on Web Monetization in general and building out core features of a ā€œMembers Onlyā€ section of our site to engage Web Monetized users in a world of curated Reductress content that they can rank and discuss in an online community.
