Castopod, an open source podcasting platform, to support the latest draft of the Web Monetization standard and develop new capability for including wallet addresses in social web feeds. Demonstrate interoperability with Mastodon and other social web apps that have enabled Web Monetization at Fosdem 2025 and Fediforum in April 2025. Castopodās previous implementation of Web Monetization must be updated in order to work with the new browser extension and other apps. The latest draft of the proposed Web Monetization standard contains backwardsincompatible changes. Additionally, the specification has changed how to include Web Monetization wallet addresses in the RSS 2.0 feed format used by the podcasting ecosystem and the Atom and JSON Feed formats used by the RSS ecosystem.
